Welcome! My name is Laura.  Thanks for stopping by.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, working in the Cleveland, OH area.  I’m also a PhD student pursuing a degree in Counselor Education and Supervision.

I am a feminist narrative therapist with specialty training in trauma, shame and vulnerability, creative arts therapy, spiritual development, and social justice in counseling. I enjoy utilizing stories from books, movies, TV shows, and mythology to help characterize growth and development. I write about the connections between mental health and media and provide psychological analyses of characters we know and love.

I prioritize ways to make mental health resources and information accessible and transparent– in and out of the therapy session.  I’m active in mental health advocacy circles and work to create informative and digestible content.  I also work to create mental health and therapeutic self-directed resources such as planner & journal pages and worksheets.  For more information, visit me on Twitter at @lauragdunson.

I strive to use creative therapeutic techniques, including expressive art and creative writing therapy as well as board and tabletop game therapy. I believe the stories we tell one another and ourselves define our realities and by changing and challenging our stories, we challenge and change ourselves.

Much love to you all!
